The government should be investing more in robotics because it’s an industry with massive growth potential. For example, it has been predicted that by 2025, there will be more than 27 million industrial robots globally and more than 8 million service robots.
In addition, research firm IDC predicts that global spending on robotics will reach $134 billion by 2021, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18 percent between 2016 and 2021. This figure represents a significant increase over 2015, when total worldwide spending on robotics was approximately $71 billion—a CAGR of 17 percent between 2010-2015—and illustrates just how fast this industry is expanding at the present time!
